GIZMO 32 ®

MOUNTING PLATE BORING AND LINE

BORING INSTRUCTIONS

SET-UP

Remove GIZMO 32 ®, fence, and height calibration rods from box. Insert fence rods into grooves in GIZMO 32 ® base, sliding rods under washer and locking knob until fence is tight against the base. Tighten fence locking knob. (NOTE: Fence should hang below GIZMO 32 ® base.) Next insert a height calibration rod into each end of the GIZMO 32 ® base sliding rods under washers and locking knobs. Tighten locking knobs. (See diagram below for exact fence and height calibration rod location.)

MOUNTING PLATE DRILLING

When the GIZMO 32 ® fence is tight against the base as described in "SET-UP", GIZMO 32 ® is set for drilling at the 37mm setback for all OVERLAYS. To adjust for INSET applications, loosen fence locking knob and adjust fence so that the distance between the fence and the base is equal to the door thickness. This will set the drilling for INSET applications. (37mm + door thickness)

HEIGHT CALIBRATION

OPERATION

Holding the GIZMO 32 ® base flat against the cabinet side panel position the base so that the fence is tight against the front edge of the side panel. Now lower the GIZMO 32 ® in the cabinet so that the BLACK or BOTTOM height calibration rod sits on the cabinet floor. (See diagram A below.) Activate the hand drill and push the body of the GIZMO 32 ® toward the base until the drills reach their maximum depth. Repeat procedure for drilling the top mounting plate holes except now position the TOP (WHITE) height calibration rod against the underside of the cabinet top or cross rail positioned at the door’s top. (See diagram B below) To drill the opposite side panel, remove the fence from the base and re-install it into the opposite side re-calibrating for the same overlay or inset setting. This will allow the BLACK height calibration pin to always reference off of the BOTTOM of the cabinet. (See diagram C below.)

LINE DRILLING REAR HOLES

To drill the rear set of line holes remove the fence and re-install into the GIZMO 32 ® base upside down so that the fence does not hang below the base. This will allow the base to sit flat against the cabinet side while calibrating the fence against the cabinet back. (See diagram below.) Make sure that the fence depth is set at the desired distance. Proceed with line drilling starting the first 2 holes by again referencing the BLACK (BOTTOM) height calibration pin against the cabinet floor. Repeat line drilling procedure using the indexing pin until the desired number of holes is drilled. Now switch the fence to the opposite side of the base, maintaining the same fence setting and position, to drill the rear holes on the opposite side panel.
